Sunny Sanwar and Faisal Ahmed directorial “Mission Extreme” hit theatres worldwide, yesterday. The film is running houseful since day one, which is rare in recent years. Seems like Bangladeshi cinema is reviving after a long time.This review will progress without spoilers since it is just the second day of release. However, I will say that every moment in the film resonates suspense. The plot is relatable; it reflects our daily lives and our problems as well. What is most impressive is the fact that all the major and minor characters were given much attention to detail.In fact, these characters have successfully concealed little mistakes on the screen. Some of the noted artistes have less screen time than expected.Arifin Shuvoo played the role of Navid Shahriar to perfection. His presentation and acting were both spot on, and it is evident that the hard work really paid off.As a cool-headed villain, Taskeen Rahman was fantastic. One of his dialogues, “Beheste amader dekha hobe” (We will meet in heaven) have gone viral already!Oishee’s ‘girl-next-door’ appearance was welcome and she did an appreciable job, considering that it was her first film.Sadia Nabila, portraying a police officer was quite good.
However, in an emotional scene, it seemed the director could not make her understand what the scene actually demands.Although Iresh Zaker and Shatabdi Wadud had miniscule screen time, they made it up with their charisma.Actors Rashed Mamun Apu, Manoj Pramanik and Sudip Biswas Dip could have had a little more time to establish their roles.The track, “Jani Tumi Chhile” is not bad; however, it is not clear why the song was filmed in a desert. Another song, “Nagor Amar Kacha Pirit”, did not fit the film, in my opinion.Background score of “Mission Extreme” will get more marks comparing to contemporary films. Editing was also laudable.
